A marketing kit is not one product in a box. It is five or six unrelated things — a brochure, a sample, a device, a notebook, something branded — that have to travel together without damaging each other and arrive looking deliberate.

    Mixed contents, mixed problems

Every item has a different failure mode. Literature creases if it can slide. A sample leaks if it can tip. A device scratches against anything harder than it is. Solve them together and you get a box that protects nothing well.

The answer is compartmentalisation: each item held in its own recess so nothing touches anything else. A flat channel keeps documents from curling; a deeper cavity holds a bottle upright; a lined recess keeps a device off the board.

    Order of reveal

A kit is read in the order it comes out. Layering lets you control that: a covering card or brochure on top so the message is read first, product samples in the layer beneath, the substantial item at the base as the last thing found.

Getting this wrong is not a protection failure, it is a communication one — the recipient reaches the product before the context and the kit does not land. The tray construction behind this is covered on mailer boxes with inserts.

Designed to be re-packed by people

Sales kits get assembled by a sales team, often in a hurry, often at a desk. A tray where every item has one obvious home is packed correctly by someone who has never seen the packing guide. A flat box with loose contents is packed differently every time.

If the kit is refilled between meetings, that repeatability matters more than any other feature.

    Frequently asked questions

Can the layout change between orders?

The tray is die-cut, so a layout change means a new die. We often design for the largest configuration and leave cavities empty for smaller kits.

    How thick can it be?

Depth is limited mainly by what stays practical to post. Multi-layer trays work well up to about 100 mm.

    Can literature be printed too?

Yes — printing the insert card and the box together keeps colour consistent across both.

Send the items and their dimensions and we will design the tray around the sequence you want them found in.

    Key features

How we build custom marketing kit mailer boxes.

    Measured from the product

We size the box around what goes inside and add the clearance it needs. That removes void fill you would otherwise buy and dimensional weight you would otherwise pay on every order.

    Colour that behaves

Process CMYK or a Pantone spot match, outside and in. We tell you how a colour will sit on kraft before the run, not after it.

    Board matched to the load

E-flute, B-flute or double wall depending on weight and fragility. We will talk you down a grade as readily as up one.

    Assembles in one motion

One-piece construction with a front-tab lock. No tape, no gun, and seconds rather than minutes at the packing bench.

    Recyclable as standard

Kraft and corrugated go in the curbside bin with water- and soy-based inks. Plastic lamination changes that, and we say so when you ask for it.

    Fifty is a real run

Enough to prove a design before committing to thousands. Pricing steps down at 250, 500 and 1,000 as setup cost spreads.

    Make it yours

    Customization options

Board, print method and finish are three separate decisions, and each one moves the price. We will tell you which are worth paying for on your product and which are not.

    FAQ

    Before you order

Measure the product at its widest point in each direction, not a box you already use. We add the clearance and the board thickness ourselves, so sending an existing box means inheriting whoever sized it last.
Yes. Every quote includes a print-ready dieline and a 3D render at no charge, and you can request a physical sample before production. On a first order we recommend taking the sample — a screen cannot tell you whether a box fits.
Quantity, then print coverage. Setup cost is fixed, so the per-unit figure drops sharply across the first few quantity steps. After that, the number of ink colours moves the price more than the board does.
On white-top board, closely — specify a Pantone reference and we match to it. On kraft the ink sits over brown and shifts warmer, so we tell you how a colour will actually behave before the run rather than after it.
Send photographs within seven days of delivery and we reprint or refund the affected quantity. Custom production is not returnable for change of mind, which is exactly why we insist on proof approval first.
