Decorative Mailer Boxes

In stock SKU: TMB0012 (214 reviews)
Original price was: $0.50.Current price is: $0.35. price scales with quantity

Decorative mailer boxes with patterned and full-coverage artwork. Patterns behave differently on a box than on a flat sheet — folds interrupt them and corners have to line up — so the design is built around the dieline.

  • Repeat patterns aligned to the fold lines, not cropped by them
  • Inside print so the pattern continues when the lid opens
  • Full-bleed coverage across every panel
  • Best results on white-top or boxboard
  • From 50 units with a 3D render before print

A pattern on a flat sheet is easy. A pattern on a box has to survive being folded into six planes, wrapped around corners and interrupted by a closure — and the places where it fails are exactly the places a customer looks first.

Design around the dieline, not the panel

The commonest mistake is designing on a rectangle and letting the dieline crop it afterwards. Motifs end up sliced in half at the fold, and the repeat stops making sense across the corner.

Working from the dieline instead means the repeat is scaled so whole motifs land on each face and the pattern reads as continuous when the box is assembled. This is why we send the dieline before artwork rather than after.

    Registration, honestly stated

Corrugated board is slightly compressible and moves marginally as it feeds through a press. That gives a registration tolerance of roughly half a millimetre — irrelevant for most designs, and very relevant for a fine geometric repeat where every line is expected to meet exactly at a corner.

Two ways round it: scale the pattern up so a fractional shift is invisible, or choose an organic motif where precise alignment was never the point. Smooth stock like boxboard holds registration better than fluted board if the design genuinely demands it.

The inside is half the surface

A decorative box that is plain inside is doing half its job. The interior is what the customer sees at the moment of opening, and it is a flat, uninterrupted surface with no closure cutting across it — often the best canvas on the whole box.

    Frequently asked questions

Will the pattern line up at the corners?

Within about half a millimetre. We will tell you honestly if your design needs tighter than that.

    Does full coverage cost more?

Ink coverage affects price less than the number of colours does. A four-colour pattern and a four-colour logo cost broadly the same.

    Kraft or white?

White-top for accurate pattern colour. Kraft works for one or two-colour patterns designed for a brown ground.

    Start with the dieline

Send your dimensions and we will supply the flat template, so the pattern is built for the box rather than trimmed to it.

    Key features

How we build decorative mailer boxes.

    Measured from the product

We size the box around what goes inside and add the clearance it needs. That removes void fill you would otherwise buy and dimensional weight you would otherwise pay on every order.

    Colour that behaves

Process CMYK or a Pantone spot match, outside and in. We tell you how a colour will sit on kraft before the run, not after it.

    Board matched to the load

E-flute, B-flute or double wall depending on weight and fragility. We will talk you down a grade as readily as up one.

    Assembles in one motion

One-piece construction with a front-tab lock. No tape, no gun, and seconds rather than minutes at the packing bench.

    Recyclable as standard

Kraft and corrugated go in the curbside bin with water- and soy-based inks. Plastic lamination changes that, and we say so when you ask for it.

    Fifty is a real run

Enough to prove a design before committing to thousands. Pricing steps down at 250, 500 and 1,000 as setup cost spreads.

    Make it yours

    Customization options

Board, print method and finish are three separate decisions, and each one moves the price. We will tell you which are worth paying for on your product and which are not.

    FAQ

    Before you order

Measure the product at its widest point in each direction, not a box you already use. We add the clearance and the board thickness ourselves, so sending an existing box means inheriting whoever sized it last.
Yes. Every quote includes a print-ready dieline and a 3D render at no charge, and you can request a physical sample before production. On a first order we recommend taking the sample — a screen cannot tell you whether a box fits.
Quantity, then print coverage. Setup cost is fixed, so the per-unit figure drops sharply across the first few quantity steps. After that, the number of ink colours moves the price more than the board does.
On white-top board, closely — specify a Pantone reference and we match to it. On kraft the ink sits over brown and shifts warmer, so we tell you how a colour will actually behave before the run rather than after it.
Send photographs within seven days of delivery and we reprint or refund the affected quantity. Custom production is not returnable for change of mind, which is exactly why we insist on proof approval first.
