Anyone can print a logo on a box. The harder problem, and the one that shows up six months later, is printing the same colour on the next run, and the run after that, on board that may not come from the same batch.

    Why colour drifts between runs

Three things move. Board shade varies slightly between mill batches, and any ink sits on top of that. Presses are calibrated to a tolerance rather than to a single point. And process colour is built from four inks, so a small shift in any one changes the mix.

Individually these are invisible. Across two orders six months apart, they add up to a customer noticing that this year’s boxes look different.

    Spot colour is the fix

A Pantone spot ink is mixed to a formula rather than assembled from four process colours on press. It is the same ink every time, so it does not drift with process balance. For a brand whose colour is genuinely part of its identity, this is the single most useful specification decision available.

It costs more per run because it is an extra ink station. On a two-colour design it is often cheaper than full process, and considerably more consistent.

    The board underneath

Ink is transparent, so the liner shows through it. The same brand colour is not the same colour on kraft as on white-top — brown warms and darkens everything above it. Pale and cool shades in particular do not survive the transfer.

If your palette is soft or precise, white-top is the honest answer even though kraft costs less. We say which before the run rather than after it.

    Frequently asked questions

Do you keep our colour on file?

Yes, along with the dieline and print files, so a reorder starts from the approved reference rather than from scratch.

How close is a CMYK match to a Pantone?

Close for most mid-tone colours, poor for vivid oranges, deep blues and anything metallic. We will show you which category yours falls into.

Can we print inside as well?

Yes, and it is the cheapest addition with the largest effect. Boxes for this are often in our subscription and PR range.

    Send your brand references

Pantone codes if you have them, or a physical sample we can measure. We will tell you how it will behave on each board.

    Key features

How we build branded mailer boxes.

    Measured from the product

We size the box around what goes inside and add the clearance it needs. That removes void fill you would otherwise buy and dimensional weight you would otherwise pay on every order.

    Colour that behaves

Process CMYK or a Pantone spot match, outside and in. We tell you how a colour will sit on kraft before the run, not after it.

    Board matched to the load

E-flute, B-flute or double wall depending on weight and fragility. We will talk you down a grade as readily as up one.

    Assembles in one motion

One-piece construction with a front-tab lock. No tape, no gun, and seconds rather than minutes at the packing bench.

    Recyclable as standard

Kraft and corrugated go in the curbside bin with water- and soy-based inks. Plastic lamination changes that, and we say so when you ask for it.

    Fifty is a real run

Enough to prove a design before committing to thousands. Pricing steps down at 250, 500 and 1,000 as setup cost spreads.

    Make it yours

    Customization options

Board, print method and finish are three separate decisions, and each one moves the price. We will tell you which are worth paying for on your product and which are not.

    FAQ

    Before you order

Measure the product at its widest point in each direction, not a box you already use. We add the clearance and the board thickness ourselves, so sending an existing box means inheriting whoever sized it last.
Yes. Every quote includes a print-ready dieline and a 3D render at no charge, and you can request a physical sample before production. On a first order we recommend taking the sample — a screen cannot tell you whether a box fits.
Quantity, then print coverage. Setup cost is fixed, so the per-unit figure drops sharply across the first few quantity steps. After that, the number of ink colours moves the price more than the board does.
On white-top board, closely — specify a Pantone reference and we match to it. On kraft the ink sits over brown and shifts warmer, so we tell you how a colour will actually behave before the run rather than after it.
Send photographs within seven days of delivery and we reprint or refund the affected quantity. Custom production is not returnable for change of mind, which is exactly why we insist on proof approval first.
