Christmas mailer boxes — printed festive packaging on a date that does not move. The design is the easy part; the constraint is that the entire industry wants press time in the same eight weeks.

    • Order by early September for a comfortable December run
    • Peak-season capacity books out from October
    • Festive print, foil and inside-lid messages
    • Rush slots available but priced as rush
    • From 50 units, proof approval starts the clock

Christmas packaging has one feature no other product here shares: an absolutely fixed deadline. A box that arrives on 27 December is worthless, not late. Everything about ordering it should be planned backwards from that.

    The calendar, honestly

Standard production is four to six working days from proof approval. That sounds like plenty in October and is not, because the whole industry is printing seasonal work at the same time and press capacity is genuinely finite.

    • By early September — comfortable. Normal pricing, room for a sample round and a design change.
    • October — workable, but capacity is filling and the schedule has no slack in it.
    • November — rush territory. Achievable for simple specifications, priced accordingly, and finishing options start dropping away.
    • December — realistically too late for a printed run. A plain box with a printed sleeve is the fallback.

The step that slips schedules is almost never production. It is proof approval, because the clock does not start until you sign it off.

Where seasonal budget is best spent

Christmas orders are often gifts, so the box is opened in front of people. Inside print and a message under the lid do more here than an elaborate exterior, and they cost less. Foil reads well against dark grounds if the budget stretches.

Avoid dating the artwork. A box printed with a year cannot be used next season, and leftover stock is common when demand is guessed rather than known.

Order quantity, and the leftover problem

Seasonal runs tempt people into ordering generously, because the per-unit price drops as quantity rises. The trap is that unused festive boxes have no value in January — they are not stock, they are waste. Order to a realistic forecast and accept the higher unit price; the maths in our note on packaging pricing only works if you use what you buy.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the real last order date?

It moves each year with capacity. Ask us in September and we will give you the current one.

Can we reuse the design next year?

Yes, if it carries no year. We keep the files, so a reprint skips setup entirely.

    Is rush production always possible?

No. In peak weeks it depends on press availability, and we will tell you straight rather than take the order and miss.

    Give us the in-hand date

We will work backwards from it and say immediately whether it is achievable.

    Key features

How we build christmas mailer box.

    Measured from the product

We size the box around what goes inside and add the clearance it needs. That removes void fill you would otherwise buy and dimensional weight you would otherwise pay on every order.

    Colour that behaves

Process CMYK or a Pantone spot match, outside and in. We tell you how a colour will sit on kraft before the run, not after it.

    Board matched to the load

E-flute, B-flute or double wall depending on weight and fragility. We will talk you down a grade as readily as up one.

    Assembles in one motion

One-piece construction with a front-tab lock. No tape, no gun, and seconds rather than minutes at the packing bench.

    Recyclable as standard

Kraft and corrugated go in the curbside bin with water- and soy-based inks. Plastic lamination changes that, and we say so when you ask for it.

    Fifty is a real run

Enough to prove a design before committing to thousands. Pricing steps down at 250, 500 and 1,000 as setup cost spreads.

    Make it yours

    Customization options

Board, print method and finish are three separate decisions, and each one moves the price. We will tell you which are worth paying for on your product and which are not.

    FAQ

    Before you order

Measure the product at its widest point in each direction, not a box you already use. We add the clearance and the board thickness ourselves, so sending an existing box means inheriting whoever sized it last.
Yes. Every quote includes a print-ready dieline and a 3D render at no charge, and you can request a physical sample before production. On a first order we recommend taking the sample — a screen cannot tell you whether a box fits.
Quantity, then print coverage. Setup cost is fixed, so the per-unit figure drops sharply across the first few quantity steps. After that, the number of ink colours moves the price more than the board does.
On white-top board, closely — specify a Pantone reference and we match to it. On kraft the ink sits over brown and shifts warmer, so we tell you how a colour will actually behave before the run rather than after it.
Send photographs within seven days of delivery and we reprint or refund the affected quantity. Custom production is not returnable for change of mind, which is exactly why we insist on proof approval first.
